Ask yourself - What are you grateful for? What makes you happy?

Something I’ve realised is that you can’t move forward with your life without acknowledging things in the past.

Often people dwell on the negative things, instead of looking for and appreciating the positive.

In another post I’ll talk about using those negative thoughts and things you know you want to change and how to transform that into the energy you need to make those changes!

However for now, I want you to focus on recognising those joyous moments in your daily life.

Take a minute to think about your day. Has it been particulary good/bad? Did you feel tired/awake? Were you working or did you have a day off?

Even if you wrote the day off as a bad day,

I guarantee there will have been one ‘okay’ instance. Maybe a stranger smiled at you in the street, or there were lots of your favourite flavour sweets in the bag.

Taking time to reflect on your day puts things into perspective.

Trust me, I know thoughts and feelings can take over your life in the moment, but most of the time, whether we want to admit it or not, we’re over-reacting.

When you break down your day into tasks and activities it’s a lot less overwhelming.

Have a think about your day; acknowledge your “little victories” as my dad says, the things that made you smile, the things that you’re grateful for.

And me?

My morning coffee was something I was grateful for today.

Post a picture of something that made you smile today using #ephemeralinstances and keep your eyes on my website for my gratitude diary I'll be releasing soon.

Talk soon!

Katie
